Emma Jay Fitness
Looking for safe, supportive postnatal fitness coaching in Barrow-in-Furness? I'm Emma — a qualified personal trainer, mum of two, and a postnatal specialist helping new mums across Barrow and Furness rebuild strength, confidence and energy after baby.
Returning to fitness after a baby isn't about 'bouncing back'. It's about gently rebuilding the systems that worked so hard during pregnancy and birth — your core, your pelvic floor, your hips, your back, your confidence — and doing it in a way that actually fits new-mum life.
As a mum of two myself, I get it. The broken sleep, the random nap-time windows, the not having a clue what's safe to do, the worry about diastasis or pelvic floor stuff. Your programme is built around all of that — not in spite of it.
We start gently and progress only when your body's ready. You'll get a tailored plan, weekly check-ins, and someone in your corner who actually understands what those early postnatal months and years are really like.

Core, pelvic floor and breathing rebuilt first. Strength layered in gradually as you're ready.
Sessions you can actually do during a nap window or in the evening — not 90-minute gym epics.
Tailored training and guidance to support you through tummy gap, leaking and pelvic floor symptoms — with exercise choices that work around them.
No crash dieting. Practical guidance on fuelling your training, supporting recovery and breastfeeding (if relevant) — without obsessing over food.
Plans built around the equipment and time you actually have — including no-equipment home options.
A members group full of other mums across Barrow and Furness — encouragement, not comparison.
I'm a Level 3 qualified personal trainer with additional focus on postnatal and women's fitness. I'm also a mum of two, based in Barrow-in-Furness, so I know exactly how it feels to try and squeeze training around school runs, feeds, naps and toddler chaos.
I'm based in Barrow-in-Furness and cover the whole Furness Peninsula in person, plus online coaching for clients anywhere in Cumbria and across the UK.
